I'k having the same error. I updated my jfriedl plugin, but that didn't help. I haven't had any luck finding a solution.

I've been having the same problem all yr (2014). I tin can't recall when it began, exactly, but it's intermittent (uploading works sometimes, but I never known when and then I just take to go on trying until it does). Just upgraded to LR 5.7 and it'southward still an issue. Very annoying!

Aforementioned problem. Initially I had another error message:Can't update this collection [ie., the Flickr drove in Publish Services]: An internal mistake has occurred: Error Domain=NSXMLParserErrorDomain Code=4 "Line 1: Document is empty" UserInfo=0x600010866bc0 {NSLocalizedDescription=Line 1: Document is empty}.
Yahoo apologized for the inconvenience only declined support, stating that my issue was with Adobe. I declined for the moment to accept two blog solutions (uninstall Flickr improver in LR4 Publish Services, then reinstall information technology, or install a tertiary party app), believing that I needed to go along searching for Adobe set up. No luck in that try. Well-nigh recently, I installed LR5 free trial version and attempted to republish images with Flickr. That's when I received the fault bulletin you mention here. Not certain whether failure of trial version to fix corrupt add-on means I ought to avoid paying for the full LR5 equally a last resort. I'thousand stymied and inquire for guidance. Thanks.

You don't have to use Lightroom to upload your photos to Flickr.
If you don't want to use the Flickr uploader, check the App Garden for other upload apps.

While it is truthful that one does non need to employ Lightroom to upload pictures to Flickr, not using Lightroom with the Adobe or Jfriedl upload plug-ins ways breaking my workflow too as the established workflow of many others. Information technology means not being able to speedily replace modified photos, etc. That isn't a solution.
The mistake David Hawkins initially had with LR4 is dissimilar than the rest of us, simply information technology sounds similar to another issue I saw someone using LR on a Mac had. Reauthorizing the Flickr upload plugin may help, but probably not. Make sure you have updated to iv.iv.1.
Upgrading to LR5 is worth it if you need the few newer features or support for newer cameras (if using RAW files, if using JPEG then information technology's a not-consequence), but it won't fix the immediate FileType effect until either Flickr fixes this problem or Adobe figures out how to piece of work effectually information technology. I think it is worth the $90, just as nosotros are on 5.vii now, 6.0 may non be likewise far away (6 months?) and could be worth waiting to upgrade until that fourth dimension if LR4 otherwise meets your needs.
In the curt term equally a piece of work around to this event I marked the modified photos I have as upwardly to date and hit the publish push button. New photos are being published ok. Once this fix is done I'll mark the previously modified ones and needing to be republished and go from there. That's really the nigh aggravating office about this ordeal. The Adobe and JFriedl Flickr plug-ins conspicuously work for publishing but the Flickr API has been inverse in a way to break Modified photograph uploads and hasn't told anyone about it. There'southward no change log anywhere that I saw for developers to know if they demand to change any of their code or non. It's a joke.

actually they did announce the recent switch to https multiple times on the flickr API developer mailing list
groups.yahoo.com/grouping/yws-flickr/
and on this forum as well.
information technology is true that there is no change logs for the flickr API, and that would exist useful to take ane (especially to log all the bugs that have been fixed (or not fixed) recently.

The HTTPS change is known and both the Adobe and JFriedl plug-ins utilise information technology. JFreidl mentions it on his site and I've verified that the Adobe i uses information technology as well with a bundle trace. I previously searched that group (and joined information technology) but didn't find any clues. This morn some other search turns up one thread from May with the FileType mistake concerning the migration to SSL.
The SSL merely date was June 27 which we are well past and just now experiencing this problem. During this I saw that they sometimes deploy changes to Flickr x times a day. If only there was a change log...

Another photographer here that cannot upload images. The trouble started with me last night. Like Suburban Body Monkey said, while we do not demand LR to upload, it is a convenient workflow. Then convenient that I really practice not have the fourth dimension to apply anything else.
Anyone aware of a gear up?
Thanks!

btw, the message "Filetype was non recognized" has nothing to do with the file-blazon beingness non recognized.
This is an blanket error message that flickr returns when some sort of unexpected error occurred.

Solved the trouble, atleast for my uploads. One of my epitome files had become corrupted, as far as Flickr anyway. I watched the collection as it was updating and the i image was repeatedly rejected. I removed the prototype from the collection and the remainder of the images uploaded flawlessly.

Was the image a new publish a republished image? Images that accept not been published work fine, but modified photos or ones marked to be republished do not.

I was returning to this thread for whatever news, and solved at least ane problem. I'd been trying to upload new photos for weeks, but it wasn't working. Reading the latest comments, I realized the problem was one modified photo that was preventing the new ones from uploading. I removed that, and the new ones are uploading fine.
Still hoping this gets resolved for modified photos due to the workflow disruption it causes.

I had the same problem, calculation images from Lightroom 5 to Flickr with th plugin. I seem to have solved it for at present at least. It seems I had a number of images that needed republished due to some alterations in Lightroom. These appeared to exist the problem, subsequently stopping any new uploads from loading. So I firstly removed the new upload from the plugin app, and so selected the multiply images marked for republishing and right clicked and selected 'Marking as up to date' on the options. I then added the new image again to be uploaded and information technology has done and then with out any problems. I then tested the plugin by altering the newly added paradigm and republished with out any bug besides. Promise this helps and information technology continues to piece of work.

The problem appeared only on one flick, all other files were replaced successfully. I checked for the file, I tin can open information technology without trouble, I opened it, saved information technology, tried again merely zilch helps.
